A California sunset caught in motion, all color and salt and sky.
Evening settles over Santa Monica as the last light of day spills across the water—fiery oranges melting into deep violets, waves catching every shade of blue on their way to shore. The lifeguard tower stands quiet in the glow, a small silhouette against a sky that refuses to fade gently.
Tower Life vol. 7 captures that fleeting moment when the beach becomes pure atmosphere—when salt air cools, palm trees sway in slow rhythm, and the world feels both wide-open and perfectly still.
Built entirely by palette knife, each stroke stacks color on color, leaving ridges and valleys that hold the light like wet sand catching the sunset.
A high-gloss resin coat seals and amplifies the painting without erasing the raw texture beneath it. Move around the room and the surface shifts—shimmering here, deepening there—like watching the shoreline breathe.
Part of our ongoing Tower Life series, this painting began as an original photograph by 5th & Rugged artist Amy Wilson, taken while showing an out-of-country client the magic of a true California beach. That sense of discovery — of seeing the Pacific with fresh eyes — is woven through every stroke.
Framed in a sleek black metal floating frame, Tower Life 7 is a one-of-a-kind celebration of color, coastlines, and the quiet beauty of the American West.
