Starcruiser Memories Project

Join the mission to keep the Starcruiser’s stories alive.

At Halcy-Con 2025, writer Casey Dey (known aboard the Starcruiser as Salihn) is gathering tales from across the galaxy—voices of smugglers, captains, engineers, and heroes who once called the Halcyon home. Record your favorite moment (free, ~2 minute recording). Then, if you’d like, commission artist Nelson Ruger to transform your story into a mid-century modern portrait of your Starcruiser character.

How it works

1. Record your story (free): Reserve a 2-minute slot with Salihn at Halcy-Con — book your time. If we collect enough stories, we’ll publish The Starcruiser Memories Anthology, available for purchase after Halcy-Con..
2. Choose your illustration style (paid): Pick Line Art, Greyscale Halftone, or Full Color. Each commission includes a 150-word story summary written by Casey based on your recording.
3. Send your photo reference: We’ll email you a short intake form after purchase with a request for a link to your photos.
4. Delivery after the New Year: Artwork is created Jan–Mar on a first-purchased, first-served queue.

Character Information

Please be sure to fill out the following information below:

• Character name + brief description
• Preferred scene (from the list above)
• 1–2 photo references
• Consent checkbox if you wish your story/art to be considered for the anthology

Notes: Art is one character per piece. Additional characters, props, or complex costuming may require a custom quote. Turnaround begins after assets are received and your place in the queue is reached.
