For Halcy-Con 2026, we are looking to design the Stellar Voyages booth as an in-world destination rather than a traditional vendor booth.

As the broader experience unfolds aboard the Starship Aurora—with the Marketplace positioned as a planetside port-of-call—we are actively developing a modular display system that can adapt to both the story context and the physical layout of the Marketplace.

These early concepts were developed as exploratory directions for an immersive, in-world space. They are not fixed designs, but part of an evolving approach that will adapt alongside the final setting that will adapt alongside the final setting.

Together, these concepts explore a range of possible tones—from organic and narrative-driven to structured and system-based—allowing the final direction to align with the needs of the Marketplace environment.

Below are several early visual directions exploring how this environment might come to life.

A Note on Concept Development

The following booth concepts are early explorations of how Stellar Voyages might live within the Immersive Marketplace as a planetside port-of-call connected to the world of the Starship Aurora.

Each direction represents a different approach to integrating art, objects, and storytelling into a shared in-universe space.

These concepts are intentionally flexible and are not final designs. We expect the direction, materials, and presentation to evolve as we respond to the story, setting, and specific role of the Marketplace within the overall Halcy-Con experience.

Our goal with these studies is simply to demonstrate that we are thinking in-world from the outset—and that we are ready to adapt our presence to best support the experience as a whole.

Each concept is designed to remain flexible and can evolve to align with the final marketplace environment and story setting.

Booth visuals shown are early concept explorations created with assistance by generative AI, and are meant to convey direction, atmosphere, and in-world feel. Final materials, construction, and layout will be fully physical and adapted to the event space.

Before developing immersive concepts, our approach has always started here.

Even in its simplest form, our booth is approached as a space rather than a setup.

Walls are treated as surfaces for discovery, not just display. Objects are placed with intention, suggesting a story beyond the artwork itself.

Guests are invited inward—not just visually, but physically—into a layout that feels contained, considered, and quietly immersive.

This foundation informs every concept that follows.

Not as a departure, but as an evolution.

The Aito Relay

Outer Rim Exchange Node

The Aito Relay is imagined as a remote Outer Rim transfer point—an independent exchange node where objects, stories, and information move quietly between hands.

Built from salvaged materials from the tropical Outer Rim world of Aito and adapted over time, the space carries the marks of use: worn fabrics, repurposed crates, handwritten labels, and layered textures that suggest a long history of passage. Nothing here is pristine, and nothing is accidental.

At its core, the booth functions as a working archive—part gallery, part drop point—where each piece feels like it has been collected, transported, and preserved rather than simply displayed.

The environment supports the artwork rather than competing with it, framing each piece as a recovered fragment from a larger, unseen story.

Subtle details throughout the space—catalog markings, storage crates, and softly lit surfaces—reinforce the idea that this is not just a place to view art, but a place where meaning is exchanged.

Aito Relay reflects the identity of its keepers: former Rebels and smugglers turned information brokers, now curating moments instead of fighting battles—preserving what remains, and passing it forward.

Design Intent

- Support bold, colorful artwork with grounded, neutral surroundings

- Rough-hewn crate-based display and storage
- Soft practical lighting (lantern-style, low glow)
- Subtle labeling and archival cues

Up close, it reveals layers—objects, details, and quiet narrative threads that reward time and attention.

Transport-Grade Display System

The Modular Cargo Gallery is designed as a transport-ready exhibition system—an integrated wall of interlocking panels, compartments, and display frames engineered for movement between ports.

Rather than feeling assembled over time, this space reads as intentional and constructed. Each section of the booth functions as part of a cohesive system: artwork is framed within modular housings, surrounded by panel seams, access points, and embedded instrumentation that suggest a larger operational purpose.

The structure evokes the interior of a starship or cargo hold—clean, organized, quietly technical, and highly engineered. Soft lighting and subtle material variation introduce warmth, while integrated light strips and recessed framing create a consistent visual rhythm, allowing each piece to feel highlighted without breaking the overall system.

In this concept, the artwork is not simply displayed—it is installed. Slotted into place, secured, and presented as valuable cargo in transit.

The result is a gallery that feels precise, mobile, and engineered—an environment where presentation and structure are inseparable.

The Smuggler’s Framework

Improvised Systems. Intentional Order.

The Smuggler’s Framework presents the booth as a working system—assembled over time from salvaged components, cargo panels, and repurposed equipment.

Unlike a clean, engineered environment, this space feels built through necessity. Panels don’t perfectly match. Materials shift from section to section. Storage crates, access doors, and structural elements have been adapted into display surfaces, creating a layered, tactile environment that suggests constant use and reconfiguration.

Despite its improvised nature, the layout is far from chaotic. A clear logic emerges: artwork is intentionally placed within framed sections of the structure, supported by consistent lighting and balanced spacing. The result is a space that feels both rugged and curated—where function and presentation coexist.

Warm embedded lighting and subtle technological details give the booth a quiet sense of purpose, hinting at its role as more than just a gallery. It reads as a place where items are stored, moved, traded, and occasionally displayed.

In this concept, the gallery is not separate from the system—it is the system. A working infrastructure shaped by movement, necessity, and time.
