If you’re new to 5th & Rugged, welcome.
Our studio is built around a simple belief: art and decor isn’t just something you buy or hang — it’s something you live with. It shapes the spaces we inhabit, the moods we carry, and the stories we return to over time.
We don’t rush the work here. We believe in letting ideas settle, in paying attention to process, and in making space for art that feels honest and lived-in rather than loud or fleeting. Much of what we create is influenced by light, water, travel, memory, and the quiet moments in between.
If you’d like to understand how we think — and why the work looks and feels the way it does — these pieces are the best place to begin:
On why art matters to us as humans — culturally, emotionally, and personally — and how it helps us understand who we are.
A reflection on pace, intention, and choosing focus over urgency — in art and in life.
An exploration of how art becomes part of daily life, shaping atmosphere, memory, and meaning over time.
These writings aren’t instructions. They’re invitations.
If something here resonates, you’re in the right place.
And if you’d like to go deeper — into the stories behind specific works, the studio’s evolution, or moments that shaped the path forward — there’s plenty more waiting when you’re ready.
The studio doors are open. Take your time.
PS - If you’d like to learn more about the people behind the work, you can meet the studio here.
