Inspiration

Vacation Protocol started with a simple idea: what if the hardest-working droids in the galaxy finally took a vacation?

This series brings together three things I’ve always loved—Star Wars, mid-century modern graphic design, and the feeling of being somewhere you don’t have to rush.

Instead of depicting these droids in motion or conflict, I wanted to put them on pause. Let them relax. Let them just exist for a minute. Maybe even enjoy themselves.

K-2SO isn’t exactly built for relaxation, which made him an easy target for this series.

Even on vacation, he’s all business. Posture—rigid. Presence—intimidating. You could put him on a beach, hand him a drink, throw a lei around his neck… and he’d still look like he’s waiting for orders.

K-2SO was not built for vacation—but here we are.

No blasters. No missions. Just a drink in hand and a lei he absolutely did not ask for. It feels less like a break and more like a reassignment he hasn’t fully agreed to—but he’s going along with it anyway.

Everything says “take a break,” and he absolutely refuses to.
