Sammie, nervous and earnest, reminded us that bravery often begins with simply trying. Even the loyal droid SK-620 seemed to hum with the hidden life of the ship itself.

These characters did more than guide a story — they welcomed travelers into a living, breathing universe. Secret meetings in the cargo bay, whispered plans against the First Order, and desperate attempts to help friends escape danger turned strangers into allies almost overnight.

For those who sailed aboard her, the Halcyon will always remain a place where story and reality blurred. A ship where ordinary guests found themselves standing beside heroes — and for a brief moment, became part of the legend themselves.

Inspiration

This piece is a tribute to the crew who gave the Halcyon its soul: Captain Keevan, Lenka Mok, Sammie, and the steadfast SK-620, watched over by the distant presence of Rey. Through their performances, these characters turned a starship into a living story that passengers could step inside.

When I first boarded the Halcyon, I expected a themed experience. What I didn’t expect was how quickly I would be swept into the Resistance storyline. Secret meetings in the cargo bay, helping stall the First Order, even assisting Sammie in his escape from the brig — the characters made every moment feel real and urgent.

After more than forty years working in the arts, it is rare for a piece of storytelling to move me the way the Halcyon experience did. This artwork is my tribute to the actors and characters who made that voyage unforgettable.
