Vacation Protocol started with a simple idea: what if the hardest-working droids in the galaxy finally took a vacation?

This series brings together three things I’ve always loved—Star Wars, mid-century modern graphic design, and the feeling of being somewhere you don’t have to rush.

Instead of depicting these droids in motion or conflict, I wanted to put them on pause. Let them relax. Let them just exist for a minute. Maybe even enjoy themselves.

Gonk droids might be the least likely candidate for a vacation—and that’s exactly why it works.

He’s built for one thing: standing there and powering things. No personality upgrades. No dramatic arcs. Just presence. So putting a drink on top and calling it “time off” feels… optimistic.

It’s still doing exactly what it always does.
Just with better scenery.
