Inspiration

Vacation Protocol started with a simple idea: what if the hardest-working droids in the galaxy finally took a vacation?

This series brings together three things I’ve always loved—Star Wars, mid-century modern graphic design, and the feeling of being somewhere you don’t have to rush.

Instead of depicting these droids in motion or conflict, I wanted to put them on pause. Let them relax. Let them just exist for a minute. Maybe even enjoy themselves.

Bringing them together was less about story and more about balance. Three completely different forms, three completely different personalities—and somehow, they hold the space together. K-2SO brings structure, BB-8 brings movement, and Gonk… just shows up and refuses to change. That contrast is what makes the whole thing click.
