Inspiration

Vacation Protocol started with a simple idea: what if the hardest-working droids in the galaxy finally took a vacation?

This series brings together three things I’ve always loved—Star Wars, mid-century modern graphic design, and the feeling of being somewhere you don’t have to rush.

Instead of depicting these droids in motion or conflict, I wanted to put them on pause. Let them relax. Let them just exist for a minute. Maybe even enjoy themselves.

BB-8 felt like the perfect place to start—built for constant motion, now settling (just barely) into stillness, while still carrying that same restless energy.

Everything about this piece plays with balance: shape, weight, and just enough instability to keep it interesting.

He looks relaxed… but keep an eye on him.... he might roll at any second.
