Halcy-Con 2025: A Weekend of Wonder, Connection, and Gratitude

When the lights finally dimmed on Halcy-Con 2025, we sat down next to our battered cargo chest and half-empty water bottles and just smiled. We’d made it.

This weekend wasn’t just another show — it was a reunion, a celebration of creativity, and a reminder of what makes this community so special.

From the moment the doors opened, the room was alive with color, laughter, and the unmistakable hum of lightsabers. We reconnected with familiar faces and met so many new ones, each conversation adding a little more light to the weekend.

A Moment of Magic

One of my favorite moments came from an unexpected encounter. I met someone “selling” Ghorman souvenir ghorlectipods — a perfect deep-cut Andor reference — and inside one was a secret message that completely caught me off guard.

It was pure Starcruiser magic: unexpected, heartfelt, and full of that spark that makes this fandom unlike any other. I walked away from that moment not just with a smile, but with a new friend.

Art, Loss, and Rediscovery

There was also a quieter moment — one that reminded me why I create at all. I shared with a guest how, after losing my dad, I struggled to make art again. It was the memories and community aboard the Starcruiser that helped me rediscover my courage to create.

That conversation was emotional and vulnerable, but it felt like the perfect reflection of what this show is all about: connection, healing, and storytelling through shared experiences.

Community, Collaboration, and Kyberpunks

We were also thrilled to finally meet the Kyberpunks in person and see them perform live — an absolute highlight. Their energy and creativity inspired so much of what we’ve built with 5th & Rugged and our Stellar Voyages collections.
